What is generally accepted as money is the long time established consensus agreement of value and exchange amongst populations. Even if a business has a warehouse of gold bars and tries to sell any of these to someone; it depends if the customer has enough of these currency units to purchase one. Crypto was introduced to be eventually integrated into the current money system as JP Morgan has suggested.

Similar to the currencies per country; underlying value must be established in the financial statements of the firm's assets and liabilities. That is consider along the lines of any country's underlying wealth with GDP, precious metals reserves as well as crown and government lands with resources and of potential.
